Why fit one?
The foot of a fence takes the most wet weather. With a gravel board in place, it's the gravel board you replace in years to come, not the whole fence. It also gives a neat straight line above a path or lawn.
Fitting tips
- Fix it to the face of the posts before the boards go on.
- Keep a small gap between the gravel board and the soil.
- Use one 3.6m board for every two bays at 1.8m centres.
